Note: We only accept quotes made by bloggers.

Steps for Quoting:

I found something you wrote interesting that's why I've quoted you at CB Blogger Quotes

If you want me to remove your quote let me know.

Sign your name/UserID

2. Create a Title for the Post in this format:

Quote Category - Name/User ID of person who made the quote

3. Input the actual quote.

4. Place quotes around the quotation.

5. At the end of the quote place a dash and the user ID of the person who made this statement.

6. Provide a hyperlink to the original posting you extracted the Quote from.

7. Then place any comments you'd like to make about the quote below it (optional)

8. Add or create the appropriate labels at the bottom of your posting.

Example:

Title: On Blogging - A Quote by CB Webmaster

"Remember even if you're a beginner blogger that doesn't mean you have to have the mindset that keeps you at the beginner level! How fast you progress is up to you!" - CB Webmaster

from: Blog Material for Life

I really think this a true statement! I know that when I perceived myself as a beginner I didn't progress as fast as I could have!

Additional Tips for Quoting:

How to Hyperlink

To ensure you're quoting correctly copy and paste the quote from the person's blog.

Here's how you do that:

Place your mouse cursor over the beginning of the text you want to copy.

Then drag the mouse down to select the text you want

If you select too much text you can drag it back up, or to the left or right.

Then right click with your mouse

Select: Copy

Then login to blogger.com and go to this blog and at the top right of this blog you'll see it says: New Post. Click on that.

Then with your mouse click into the empty large white space on the page and right click with your mouse, then select: Paste

Remember to put quotation marks around the quote!

You may use also ellipses: ...

But you must use ellipses properly,
which basically means by editing out that portion of the quote you are not changing the meaning or intention of the quote.

Oh and obviously if you receive an email from the person who made the quote asking you to remove their quote from our blog - just delete your entire post on it. Here at Chatblog we respect people's wishes.

What if the quote has a mispelling in it? Leave it! Unless you ask for permission to correct it from the person who wrote it and they tell you it's alright to fix it. Most people aren't that concerned about typos - it's the gist of the quote that's important!

Can I quote myself? Why not! You're a blogger! I'm sure you've said things you've thought are interesting quotes as well! Go for it! Oh and of course if you had a typo in your original quote you can of course quote yourself correctly without typos! lol I feel silly mentioning this next thing but you don't have to do step 1 if it's your own quote.

If you have any questions feel free to email me.

Sincerely,
CB Webmaster

P.S. Make sure to hyperlink our blog in your email to the person who made the quote (Step 1 above). Here's the HTML code to do that:
